Acting for the Microphone

Voice Over 1

Orientation to the skills of voice over acting using a combination of lectures and hands on experience. Course focuses on radio commercials, narration, and animation/character voices, as well as industrial work, demo production, and marketing. Class culminates with the participation of a SAG/AFTRA agent. (One two-to-three-hour class per week for six weeks)

Voice Over 2

Continuing study of voice over using more advanced material. Material chosen specifically to the needs of each student. Class culminates with students reading for a professional voice-caster/producer. (One two-to-three-hour class per week for six weeks)

Audiobooks, Dialects

Students learn skills to perform vocal work in radio theater and audiobooks, which are very similar in nature. The regional dialects of New York, American Southern, American North Eastern, and British are developed. Class culminates with students reading for a audiobook producer from a major recording studio. (One two-to-three-hour class per week for six weeks)

Beginning Animation

Students learn to create and sustain original characters for cartoon work and video games. Class culminates with a virtual visit from a successful animation voice artist. This class is a prerequisite for Advanced Animation, which will include Disney participation. (One two-to-three-hour class per week for six weeks)

Advanced Animation

Intensive advanced work on animation voices. Class culminates with a virtual visit from a Disney animation casting director. (Two three-hour classes per week for two weeks)

Class Cost

Tuition ranges from $345 ro $495 per course. Specific costs will be explained in the informational email.
